Equipment Resets
Open the Nord Modular Editor.
From the "synth" menu, select "bank load".
Click the button that says "Bankfile".
Navigate to the "MS default bank" in the Nord Modular folder.
Click "Start Download".
This will restore all paches from the MS default bank. It doees not change any system setting.

Hit the [SETUP] Button several times till "Service" is a selectable option as a softkey
Using the [CURSOR] Key buttons, select "setup"
Hit the [SELECT] key
This will reset all system settings and patches to the default factory settings.
Note: The unit will restart in Mute mode which is patch #1. Simply select another patch for normal usage.

-NOTE: Before you load the preload data, go to the Global mode P0: Basic Setup– System Preference page, and uncheck the “Memory Protect” settings for the data that you want to load. If you execute this operation with these settings checked, and the data will not be loaded.
1. Press the MODE GLOBAL button to access the Global mode P0: Basic Setup– Basic page. (If the Global P0: Basic Setup– Basic page is not shown, press the EXIT switch)
2. Press the menu button, and choose “Load Preload/ Demo Data.”
3. In the “Kind” field, select All Preload PCG.
4. Press the OK button to execute the load operation.

To Reset the Factory patches make sure the unit is powered on

Scroll to Page 19; the display should read "GBL-19[Load FactoryData]"
Use Knob1 to change the display to "All Data"

Put the "Triton" disk in the disk drive. You can get the "Triton" disk fron the A91 lab monitor.
Press the disk button.
Select the "Load" tab.
Select "A91 Trtn.PCG"
From the drop down menu, select "Load selected"
Press the disk button.
Select the "Load" tab.
Select "A91 Trtn.PCG"
From the drop down menu, select "Load selected"
Press the [GLOBAL/MULTI] key to enter Global mode
Use the [+PAGE/-PAGE] keys to select "10: Preload"
Use the [+1Yes/-1No] keys to set the loading destination to "All"
Use the [>] key to make "OK?" blink
Press the [+1Yes] key
Press the [+1Yes] key again
Result: All initial factory settings and patches are loaded
Note: If the TR-Rack is frozen and will not boot follow these steps:
Turn off the synth
Hold down the [A4] the [EDIT] button
Turn the synth back on
Result: This will load a default system. You can now follow the normal procedures for resetting the synth.
TR-Rack EFX
Make sure that you are in multi mode.
Press the +page button until the display says: 28 MstrFX1-mod [OFF].
Press the < button so that [off] is flashing.
Press the +1/yes button. It should now say [ON].
You have just turned Effect Processor #1 on, which is set to do Chorusing.
Press +page once. it should now say: 29MstrFX2-rev[OFF].
Press the < button so that [OFF] is flashing
Press the +1/yes button. it should now say [ON].
You have just turned Effect processor #2 on, which is set to do reverb.
Controllers #91 and #93 will now set reverb and chorus depth for each MIDI channel.
But, the return level for each Effect processor is still set to 00 in the TR rack. Do this step to change that:
Press +page three times, so that the display now says:
32 Master FX return
MFX1:000 MFX2:000
Use the < and > buttons to move the cursor to the MFX1 Value 000. it should be blinking.
Hold down the +1/yes button, and press the > button five times, to set the return level to 51 or so.
Use the +1/yes and -1/no buttons to change the value by ones, and these buttons with the corresponding < and >
buttons held down to change the value by ten.
Now, use the < and > buttons to move the cursor to the MFX2 value, and raise it to 51 as well.
Also go to Global Page 8 and enable patch change receive for Banks B-D.
That's it! You should be able to send a sound from each multitimbral part to the reverb and chorus effect with CC#91 and 93.

After one second simultaneously press the [DOWN] cursor arrow button and the [#4] button
Hold these buttons down until the display reads "Special Screen" across the top

Reset Procedure (alternative):
This shortcut can be done at any time - not just during startup
Simultaneously press the [DOWN] cursor, [BANK], [EDIT], and [+1/YES] buttons
Cursor twice to the right; <--- this will take you to the "Init All RAM" command.
Press the [+1/YES] button
WARNING: This next step will initialize the RAM and then copy the ROM Performances, Patches, and Wave Sequences into banks RAM1 and RAM2. All user Performances, Patches, and Wave Sequences will be lost.
An "Are You Sure" screen will appear
Press the [+1/YES] button again to initialize the RAM
Result: The Wavestation RAM will be initialize which can be usefull in case the unit behaves erratic.
Note: This procedure does not restore the factory patches!
Turn the power switch off
Turn the power switch on
After one second simultaneously press the [DOWN] cursor arrow button and the [#4] button
Hold these buttons down until the display reads "Special Screen" across the top
Press the soft button underneath the display that reads "Init"
Result: All of the Global data for the Wavestation is reset to the factory settings.

Using the [PAGE/USER GROUP] button, scroll to "GLB Data Utility"
Using the [DOWN/UP] 'CURSOR/CATAGORY' button, select "Factory" <--- You may choose what part of memory to initialize using knob 2
Hit [Enter/Yes] twice
Result: Choosing "All Data" will reset all settings to the factory default setting, system and sounds
First you must turn memory protect off

Select "Factory"
Press [STORE]
Result: Returns the 300 to it's factory memory configuration
Note: This will erase all Registers and Setups, as well as restore all of the default settings

Now use the [UP/DOWN] button to get to the page called "System Edit Mode 1.0"
Using the 'SELECT' knob, go to the last page (1.8) called "System Initialize 1.8"
Press the [STORE] button. The PCM 80 will ask you to confirm
Press [STORE] again and the PCM 80 will start initializing
Result: All parameters are restored to the factory settings
PLEASE NOTE: The default setup needs to be changed in order for MIDI communication with the computer to work properly:
Press the [CONTROL] button
Now use the [UP/DOWN] button and 'SELECT' knob to get to page 3.7 'MIDI SysEx'
Press the [*LOAD] button to access the 'Device ID' page
Use the [ADJUST] knob to set the Device ID to 1 (to match the OMS Setup)
Now use the 'SELECT' knob to get to page 3.9 'MIDI Dump Speed'
Use the [ADJUST] knob to set the the speed to 'Fast'
Press the [CONTROL] button
Now use the [UP/DOWN] button to get to the page called "System Edit Mode 1.0"
Using the 'SELECT' knob, go to the last page (1.8) called "System Initialize 1.8"
Press the [STORE] button. The PCM 80 will ask you to confirm

Turn the [POWER] switch off
Hold down the [CLEA] button and turn the power on
A message "Reset memory?" will appear
Press the button right below "Yes"
Result: ONLY the parameters belonging to the Master and Tune menus are initialized.
Note: The Reset procedure will not restore any Single or Multi patches!
To enable "System Exclusive" press 'MASTER' then 'MIDI' then 'ENABLE' then 'SYSTEM X' <--- 'SYSTEM X' should be underlined
Hold down the [CLEA] button and turn the power on
A message "Reset memory?" will appear
Press the button right below "Yes"

Make sure the JD-800 is turned on
Press the [DATA TRANSFER] button
Use the [PAGE UP] arrow (to the right of the display) and scroll to the last page "Factory Preset ?[Y/N]"
Press the [INC/YES] up arrow (to the left of the display)
Result: The JD-800's internal memory (System, Patch, Special Setup) is restored to the factory settings.
Press the [DATA TRANSFER] button
Use the [PAGE UP] arrow (to the right of the display) and scroll to the last page "Factory Preset ?[Y/N]"
Press the [INC/YES] up arrow (to the left of the display)
Result: The JD-800's internal memory (System, Patch, Special Setup) is restored to the factory settings.
Make sure the unit is on
Hold down [SHIFT] [EXIT] and press [INIT/UTIL] (7). The indicator will light
Press [INIT/UTIL] severval times to access the "Initialize [WRITE]" page
Use [DOWN/UP] to select the type of data to be initialized ("FACTORY PRESET" for everything)
Press [WRITE]
Result: All user patches, user performances, patterns, motion control, and system settings will be returned to their factory settings.
Hold down [SHIFT] [EXIT] and press [INIT/UTIL] (7). The indicator will light
Press [INIT/UTIL] severval times to access the "Initialize [WRITE]" page
Use [DOWN/UP] to select the type of data to be initialized ("FACTORY PRESET" for everything)
Press [WRITE]
Result: All user patches, user performances, patterns, motion control, and system settings will be returned to their factory settings.
Please note: if the XP30 internal memory (users bank) already contains important data that you have created, this operation will cause all of this data to be lost. If you wish to keep the data, keep it as Sysex or over the Sound diver JV/XP.
Press the Utility/CARD BUTTON.
Go down (with the arrow down button). You sould see inthe left of the LCD display [Utility 2]
Go with the cursor (< and > buttons) to number 4, [ Factory setting] Then press Enter.
* If internal write protect is turned ON, a message [Internal Write Protect= ON] will apear on the LCD display. Change the display ON to OFF (with the arrow keys) and press Enter.
[Are you sure?] will be displayed, press yes.
Press the Utility/CARD BUTTON.
Go down (with the arrow down button). You sould see inthe left of the LCD display [Utility 2]
Go with the cursor (< and > buttons) to number 4, [ Factory setting] Then press Enter.
* If internal write protect is turned ON, a message [Internal Write Protect= ON] will apear on the LCD display. Change the display ON to OFF (with the arrow keys) and press Enter.
[Are you sure?] will be displayed, press yes.
Turn the power off
Press and hold the "Real time Creator" [1], [2] and [3] buttons while turning on the power
Result: All 'System Type' memory banks will be restored to the factory settings.
Note: The "Sound" and "Combination" user data will not be effected. To restore the "Sound" and "Combination" banks you need to load the SOUND/COMBI data from the accessory disk.
Press and hold the "Real time Creator" [1], [2] and [3] buttons while turning on the power
Result: All 'System Type' memory banks will be restored to the factory settings.
Note: The "Sound" and "Combination" user data will not be effected. To restore the "Sound" and "Combination" banks you need to load the SOUND/COMBI data from the accessory disk.
Make sure DX7II is turned on
Hold the [EDIT] button and press both [#16] and [#32] buttons
Result: Global System and Midi parameters such as Note On/Off's, Control Change values, Pitch Bend values are reset. All the parameters which belong to MIDI 1, MIDI 2, and Tune menu are initialized.
Note: The Reset procedure does not load the factory patches! Load the factory patches using the DX7 Data Cartridge.

When you press the Enter key , you will see a confirmation message.
Press the Inc/yes key to execute the factory set job. you will see the "completed" Message displayed after the job has completed.
You can cancel a job while it is being executed by pressing the DEC/NO key.
Press the Exit key to return to Utility mode.
Go in to Utility Mode.
Press the Job key in Utility mode, You will see the factory set screen. [UTIL Factory Set) ]
When you press the Enter key , you will see a confirmation message.
Press the Inc/yes key to execute the factory set job. you will see the "completed" Message displayed after the job has completed.
